Alpha hydroxy acids naturally occur in sugar, grapes, pineapple, sour milk, citrus fruit, apples and berries and are wonderful at helping to remove the overly thick outer layers of dead skin cells. These organic acids, glycolic, lactic, citric, malic and tartaric digest dead skin cells. Intra-cellular cement is the glue like substance that holds cells together.  Loosening this “frees” the dead skin cells increasing the exfoliating process.  When dead skin cells are freed, the skin takes on a clearer, more translucent appearance as well as looks and feels healthier with a more noticeable glow.  AHA’s are most useful in addressing various skin problems such as:
